Omicron will spread fast, says government, hopes it will be milder

The Omicron variant is likely to cause increased reinfections and some mutations reported on the spike gene may decrease the efficacy of existing vaccines, the government said on Friday, urging people to wear masks properly and maintain physical distance and good ventilation.
