Bibek Debroy, Chairman of PM's Economic Advisory Council and economist, dies at 69

Renowned economist and chairman of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, Bibek Debroy, passed away at the age of 69 on Friday. Debroy, a Padma Shri awardee, was known for his extensive contributions to economic policy and development in India. Before his role on the advisory council, Debroy served as the chancellor of the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) in Pune, where he was instrumental in promoting economic research and scholarship.

AP Dhillon house firing case: One arrested, another on the run in singer's Canada residence shooting

Canadian police have arrested 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra in connection with the shooting at the residence of singer AP Dhillon in British Columbia. On September 10, 30, 2024, shots were fired into Dhillon's home in Colwood, and two parked cars were set on fire. Authorities believe another suspect, 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, has fled to India.
