However, the case is likely to move to the higher courts, depending on the two parties' next move. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi expressing his concern over the condition of farmers in Delhi. Chouhan claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi is extremely indifferent towards farmers and that it has no sympathy for them. On New Year’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a special gift for farmers by extending subsidy of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) fertilizers from January 1 till further orders. Farmers will continue to get a 50 kg DAP bag for Rs 1350, and the extra cost will be borne by the Centre.
