Clouds prevailed over Delhi on Tuesday causing temperatures to drop below 40 degrees Celsius for the first time this month, the India Meteorological Department said. The Safdarjung Observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature settled at 31.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
