The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking a probe into the February 15 stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. The petition alleged that railway authorities were hiding the actual number of casualties.
Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday (February 27) extended the stay on the trial court proceedings in the National Herald case involving Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others. Justice Vikas Mahajan posted the hearing on a plea by former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Subramanian Swamy on July 28 in the matter.

As the curtains are ready to fall at the Maha Kumbh on Mahashivratri (Wednesday), a sea of devotees is still heading towards Prayagraj to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. There have been five Amrit Snans till now, on January 13, 14, 29 and on February 3 and 12.
